Bedroom Window Box

I would like to build a new wood finished window box to replace the upholstered window box in the bedroom of my 36MDDS coach. In this floor plan the escape window is not on a slide, and the window box is not part of a dresser, vanity, or anything. I can see there are at least four "L" brackets, two on each side, holding the box. Can anybody tell me if there are more attachment points that are not in view? I suspect there are more attachment points under the upholstery but I really don't want to take down the existing day/night shade and box until I am ready with a new one. If ever!

I have taken my window covering on the bedroom window of my 01 36MDDS down several times. If your 04 is like my 01 the only attachment points are the screws covered by the plastic coverings on the top and bottom of each side of the frame. Easy to take down.

Jetar,

Thanks for the info. On the '04's the screws are not covered, just exposed. I hope mine are that simple. The living room boxes were also screwed up above somewhere.

I have been doing some modifications to my 99 and would be interested in seeing some pictures when you make your changes.

Rusty Bear,

If I go ahead with the new window box, I will be happy to post pictures. But right now I don't think I will go that route. I want to put in MCD Duo roller shades, and the existing valence will not cover the roller tubes. But instead of a new box, upon further review I might be able to attach a maple strip to the existing box without looking too lame. It would be a lot less work, and be about 80% covered by the upholstery anyway. The goal is the put in the MCD Duo shade BSM (By Some Means, a good engineering term). I already have them in the living area, and want it in the bedroom too.
