Brake Buddy function test?

Does anyone know how to check that the Brake Buddy for your toad is operating properly? I had thought that I could put my DW in the toad and observe what it does when the brakes are applied in the MH while going down the road. Of course, I would try this in a large parking lot, not on the highway.

Plug BB uninstalled buddy in and let air up. Then tip it forward and if working it will activate somewhere near to 45 degree tipping angle. The higher the sensitivity setting the smaller the tip angle required. It working put in the toad and drive down the road and you will feel it in the RV when it activates.

I always thought the sensitivity should on the low side such that the the exhaust or engine brakes does not activated it so the toad brakes are not dragged all the way down the mountain. From experience they will get real hot. However, they will help stop in an emergency which is what you really want.

Another thought: Set Brake Buddy on floor on passenger side of car & plug it in. Drive around, apply brakes and see if it activates.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I tried the "tilting" test and it activated just fine. I will try the driving test today. Is there any advantage to using "proportional" vs. "full' braking on the settings?

Full braking and set pressure below the point where the wheels of the toad will slide. You do not want to drag your toad brakes for long periods like down the mountain. It is a safety device for when you need during a panic stop.

And when you drive test around make sure the BB is setting with the actuation rod pointing forward.
