The hydraulic pump bolts to the back of the compressor. The crankshaft of the compressor is the part that broke so the crankshaft is the drive for the hydraulic pump. The shop is telling me the previous replacement did NOT removed the timing and properly adjust the lash between the timing gear and the compressor drive gear. A machinists friend tells me this is a critical adjustment. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.
