From an Alpine Coach 15 year owner... It doesn't matter. The batteries will charge in either setting. However, I left my coach batteries on all the time when plugged into shore power. I would only turn off the disconnect switches when stored WITHOUT being plugged into power. Even in that mode, there are still small parasitic draws on the batteries, so given a long time in storage, you may come back to dead batteries. Best to have some solar, so the batteries are kept up. OR, disconnect the main battery cables when in long term storage to be sure there is no draw on them.
