Yup!!
Going thru that right now. We are in fact sitting in Goshen having this issue repaired this week. Our sidewall cracked at the upper left corner of our slide up to the roof area.
Our rig is only 2 1/2 years old luckily Heartland is covering the cost of wall repairs.

Ernio, I suggest you put your coach brand, year, and model in your signature line so all are aware of what you have.
The cracking issue has been found on several other brand coaches, but I am not aware of an Alpine Apex having the problem, especially with the smaller slide out, which this appears to be. I mention this because the cause of the cracking will be dependent upon the construction of the coach as much as a possible external cause. Hopefully, other Apex owners will reply as much as possible to see if this appears in other Apex coaches. This is not to say the cause is not the same as that found in other brands, but it’s best to get a like-to-like comparison.

Scroll to the top of the page and look at the bar just below the main header for the forum, the one with the “powered by Google” search box inside. Look at a the far left side of the bar, along the bottom, and tap the “User CP” button. When that page opens, look on the left side and scroll down to “Edit Signature.” Tap that and enter your information in the text box.

Is just the glass/mirror cracked or the housing as well?

Our 2006 we have a crack in exactly the same place.....Ours is 2 inches long.
Our 2002 38 had the same crack.
The crack is created by a bad weld in the aluminum frame at the corner. It can be fixed by cutting a section of fiberglass to expose the corner frame and welding a gusset at this joint.

Your message caught my eye. I have a 2001 with a crack. It's been there 2 years and isn't getting any bigger. I'm thinking you diagnosed my problem. Do you have any photos of your damage and/or repair?

I remember seeing a similar issue in the old Alpine Tech Library with photos and the guys repair summary. Not sure if it's still there on the new web site?

I just noticed a similar crack at the lower (forward) corner of my rear bedroom slide, I'll have to get in front of this before it becomes a bigger problem

As I first posted, I had not heard of this issue in Alpines, but obviously it exits. From the other posters, the lower forward corner of the bedroom slide seems to be the weak spot.
My thought is that the use of the leveling jacks is what may cause the problem as that location is nearly directly above the left rear jack location. Perhaps use of the jack puts a degree of twist on the chassis that does not occur during travel. In most coaches there is not a problem, but in the few where the slide opening frame may have a weak weld, a flexing happens that leads to a crack. Given that our coaches are somewhat "vintage," this may also be a result of metal fatigue from the many years of service.
Just a thought.
