We have a HH installed in our MH. The exhaust pipe has a broken hanger bracket up above the rear end, and I cannot get to it to fix it. So I was going to call Cummins in Las Vegas to have them take a look at it and put the new hanger on it so it's fixed.

Has anyone used this shop for repairs? The one review trashes them over a 700K motorhome being left out, being broken into, etc, not doing the job when scheduled etc.

Your comments please. I need to get this done before we leave vegas so I don't tear it up any more.

Is there a way to temporarily tie it up out of the way until you get to more familiar territory?

I have used rock mountain cummins in North Vegas to work on my onan generator. They were very fair. Is the HH you mention a hydro hot system? If so I would think a muffler shop could handle putting on a new bracket for less money,just a thought

Mine came loose there also. IIRC there was some crumbling rubber or maybe a double wrap of wishful thinking holding the hump over the axle vertical & in place, and it rotated over to rest (bang) on the frame.
I found a nearby frame bolt w/enough threads left on the end to accept a large fender washer & jamb nut, then wound stainless safety wire (about 8 wraps) around the HH exhaust tube & fender washer to secure it upright. Been good for the last 12k. I started thinking plumber's strap, but due to the location could only get one hand on it, and the safety wire could be applied one handed sort of like sewing.

I forget what gauge wire I used. I carry .04 and .03 stainless wire. Good for a lot of stuff. Harbor Freight.

Purchased some good galvanized bailing wire today, going to tie it up tomorrow to the original bracket which will keep it from banging into the rear end assembly until I can fix it myself. Cummins said 150, and minimum for one hour time, so I cancelled the appointment. And there were environmental charges which were not waiveable, and a service charge which were not waivable, so I just thought for a 10 minute job, they were milking me. I will temp fix it, and do a better job later on when I can put it up and do it right. I will double bracket it so I don't have this problem again.
