Curiousity question - How many Alpines built?

A relative if mine is looking for a used DP and has size limitations. I mentioned I thought Alpines were well made and I had actually looked at a new one in 94 or 95. Anybody know how many were made? What was the first year? Last year?

One of our more informed members will have the facts here but the first ones were 98s [built in 97???] and the last were 2008s. I am guessing that around 2500 were built over that time. Alpines were not without their issues but generally speaking, Alpine owners are still among the most satisfied owns on the road. There is a registration thread at the top of this forum but have never looked as the gross numbers.

This question came up just after WRV folded. IIRC the best estimate was 1200 to 1400, per Burke Morgan, Sales Rep for WRV.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize 98 was the first year. I think they are nice coaches. I've always admired the frame they built, the wiring harnesses, and how big the windows were.
