Desperate need of a Vansco VMM
After reading the post yesterday about another member who had a problem with the rear vansco vmm, i was preparing for our trip this weekend and low and behold, my gauges and idiot lights stopped working. The engine will start but I don't have any lights on the rear VMM in the battery compartment. I read the other posts and have removed the dash panel and reseated the speedo and other connectors as well as reseated the plugs on the vmm's. I had some corrosion on the battery terminals so I also serviced them to make sure that there was no problem with connections or ground issues back there.
I just bought my coach 2004 40MDTS 3 months ago and am planning on going on the maiden voyage this weekend for a week. The trip is only a couple of hours from home (central Florida). I have my towed, spouse and our beagle Bailey. Considering what has been said, I don't feel safe driving it so I may have to cancel. [Moderator Edit] I have a trip planned with the parents in law for several weeks in late September but I don't think that the Canadian company can fill the order according to the many posts about it. Any help would appreciated.

Ron, so sorry to hear that. I am hoping someone with far more knowledge than I can help.
As far as the Vansco unit, there was a guy who would buy extras and send them out in case of emergency. I don’t believe he has anymore available.
Everyone should have a spare. It’s the best way for making sure you never need it.
FYI, discussion of Vansco on this forum is a very touchy subject.
Typically it leads to an infraction and probation from posting.
Just trying to be helpful.

It’s not Vansco being a touchy subject that leads to these things you mentioned. Any post about any product that offers to buy, sell, offer to giveaway is not permitted as per our Community Rules. We have a free Classified Section where these are allowed.

Did you try shutting off the rear battery switch and then back on to see if that will reset the Vansco?

So, I interpret this post as your rear Vansco is now operating correctly. Is that correct? If so, that's great news, not only for you, but for all who may experience a Vansco "incident" in the future.
BTW, many have forgotten, or never knew, that there was a NHTSA Recall on Vansco units for MY 2005 and some 2006 Alpine coaches due to failures caused by foam used in the construction. This, of course, was back before the business folded, but Alpine and Vansco replaced all suspect units and newly built units with newer versions that had different construction. It's not clear if all known defective units were actually replaced, though there is a way to identify them if you look it up. I suspect the above is why there appears to be failure reports of 2005 and later Vansco units most often, plus the fact that electronics, in general, can suffer sudden and random failures.
