DHS Surround Sound System Wiring
I want to replace the DHS with a normal surround sound receiver.
The colors of the speaker wires coming out of the DHS head unit do not match the color of the wires at the speakers. Is there a interconnect location where the speaker wires terminate to DHS wires? DHS unit is on the floor behind the dash radio.

I'm not familiar with your Alpine coach, but here is a troubleshooting guide for the DHS surround that should be close to your vintage (I'm a 2004) that has the wiring and pin-outs for the unit. Might help you.

One idea — I removed the old TV, 4 small surround sound speakers, old sub woofer and replaced the entire system with a new Samsung flat panel TV, matching sound bar and compact sub woofer… The results are great sound and awesome picture quality… A relatively easy install without chasing down the wiring. Wireless/Bluetooth works really good… Good Luck!

We did exactly the same thing....after seeing Max's set-up. The sound quality is superior in every way to the previous factory system/speakers

Follow up — Paul’s set up/install is much nicer than mine. He has beautiful custom cabinets and a bigger flat panel TV. Paul’s coach is a front door model whereas mine is mid-door which has more room head room up front… I went with the budget approach but we are very pleased with the fit/feel and audio/video performance… Cheers!

Surprised you are replacing the original, ours really sounds good, now I dont know if it has been modified over the years but it rattles your teeth from the bass. We just installed a Kenwood Bluetooth head unit today so we could use our phones while driving. It also has fiber optics connected to the TV as I am sure that's not original

Here's mine
I simply used 2 "L" brackets attached to the back of the frame the TV is mounted to and then drilled into the bottom of the speaker.
The Subwoofer is wireless and fits nicely behind the Passenger side loveseat!

See below the “Thread” under “Similar Threads” on “DHS Sound System” dated 08-26-2021. It has a couple photos of my simple install using an articulating mount on the 40” Samsung. No cabinet modification just mounted it to a piece of plywood with L brackets. Sound bar is under the TV and matching Subwoofer behind the passenger seat. All Bluetooth/wireless for ease of operation via my iPhone for both audio and video. I dumbed it down for my better half who is not a tech type but loves good music… Btw, we store our coach in Oceanside right off the Mission exit if you want to take a peek at the install. Cheers!

Gents,
Thanks for the Pictures and the note about “similar threads” below. Never noticed that before.
Both setups look great,
Cheers

Without modifying the cabinets (yet) heres our quick and easy version. Side mounted an articulated swing mount to the side of the original tv "box" with a Visio smart tv and smaller Yamaha surround sound bar. Added a small subwoofer in the tv box. The tv swings flat against the tv box surround and secures for travel with a bungee cord. Sounds great for stuff I just had laying around. This is a temporary measure...maybe lol

All very nice upgrades. I appreciate the DHS literature. My Pioneer head has started giving me a “ unit miswiring check wiring then reset reading on the display. I have been through the pioneer troubleshooting steps to no avail. I hope this may lead to something.
Thanks

The head is a JVC and not a pioneer.

You guys inspired me to upgrade the TV/Audio. The speakers didn’t work when I bought the RV and after troubleshooting it looks like it’s the AMP.
Following in your footsteps I’m going with a new TV, 40in Samsung fits opening well, and a Polk sound bar. So far so good, I can play the car stereo, Bluetooth music from my phone or the TV through the sound bar and sounds great.
Best part is free labor from my 15 year old👍🏼
Waiting on swivel TV mount for final install.
