anyone know if the awning can be manually extended?

Mine stopped working and the only way to open it, according to the manual, is to remove two set screws on the motor end and pull it out. But, then you'd have to install the awning strap so you could roll it up easily.

ralphie, when you say awning strap are you talking about the strap that slides into the awning so you can pull the awning down like a regular un powered awning?

Ya--I dont think a power awning has a built-in return spring--could be wrong--but....

My booklet addresses manual retraction but not extension. I am thinking the retraction instructions could be reversed and the awning could be extended. The instructions call for installing and using an awning strap, but I think two people would be able to extend it using the arms??

I can't post pictures but I will write out the manual retraction instructions if you don't have a booklet.

Terry W, i would appreciate that if you dont mind. I do not have the manual on mine and i do need to extend it so i can get the model number off of it so i can order a new motor for it.

FWIW, According to the User's Guide the tube will want to retract when you remove a bolt in the "top of the right top casting".
