my recommendation is to change all the inline fuses in the battery compartment to newer GM style blade fuses in holders w/snap on covers, and use marine style butt connectors w/heat shrink sealing ends. Every time I go to pull one of those old glass ferrule type fuse holders apart the holder breaks and now its a chore way bigger than testing/replacing a fuse. Seems the corrosion aspect is coming home to roost on the older models in the battery compartment, so some PM in this respect should avoid problems down the road.
