drivers seat power

Drivers seat will not work... So I disconnected the 2 power wires under the seat. hooked up a 12v battery charger to the seat Works Fine!! My Question is where is the fuse or power coming from under the dash?? Got 3 fuse boxes, nothing in there. It' got to have a fuse somewhere... Ordering a circuit tracer today. Will need one sooner or later. Any Ideas??? Thanks, Tommy

......hello Tommy, how is your summer going? Seat fuses for the older Alpines are either in line or could be on the ceiling of the battery compartment in the rear--start looking there--perhaps other owners will jump in.....

My 2000 has the fuse holder in the battery compartment on the ceiling. In my case the fuse was good but the holder wasn't. Changed the holder and still no power to the drivers' side. I found that both seats were wired together with wire nuts on the passenger seat harness. Redid the connections and the seat then worked. Check there too.

You were Right! Inline fuse on ceiling in the battery compartment. Road dirt got in the fuse holder. fuse good.. cleaned holder up..No label - is Now - I thought no way. BUT YES!! Working!!! Thank You, Tommy

my recommendation is to change all the inline fuses in the battery compartment to newer GM style blade fuses in holders w/snap on covers, and use marine style butt connectors w/heat shrink sealing ends. Every time I go to pull one of those old glass ferrule type fuse holders apart the holder breaks and now its a chore way bigger than testing/replacing a fuse. Seems the corrosion aspect is coming home to roost on the older models in the battery compartment, so some PM in this respect should avoid problems down the road.
