Done

New 200 amp Delco Remy installed and works fine. No white wire connected.
Really was a bear on mine because main hot and ground cables were cut just long enough to almost make it to the alternator...
Anyway after some stern and colorful verbage I persuaded the cables to grow just a bit.
And so all is well until the next unforeseen tragedy.
Thanks to all for their input.

Sorry if posted before but could you provide the part number for the 200 amp D/R model and a brief discription of the wiring config-- eg, the two large cables and the two smaller wires that are attached to the OEM alternator [ref your post: "...no white wire connected"....??????]--thanks.....

Sorry Old scout.
A few posts back Wolf10 told me of another string that "Dean" put on the forum. It involved a nice detailed description with images for the replacement with Delco Remy.
I used the same alternator as he'd described. I don't have the part number handy.
