Elongated toilet

I was blessed with a solid foundation and as such I'm really more comfortable on an elongated toilet. Seeking experiences and recommendations for changing the original standard size toilet on my 2001 38 FDDS Alpine Coach to a larger toilet. Hoping to find options that will bolt in and hook up to the water easily. Before you ask, I don't have any "foundation" photos.

[QUOTE Seeking experiences and recommendations for changing the original standard size toilet on my 2001 38 FDDS Alpine Coach to a larger toilet.

Andy,
My 1998 Alpine 36 had a Sealand toilet when I bought it. Very short and small.

I exchanged it for a taller Dometic brand with an elongated ceramic bowl. Don't remember the model #. Ordered on line.

I had made the switch in 2 earlier motor homes.

Elongated ceramic bowl and extra height are the key features.

My toilet is a Sealand Traveler 510. The Sealand line of toilets has been "rebranded" as Dometic. The same toilet new is "Dometic 510HPS Gravity Flush Toilet." I haven't started a serious search for an elongated toilet yet.

My replacement toilet is a Dometic 310. Available from Amazon and others. Looks like the price has doubled since I bought my last one, which did not have the self closing lid.

Just an FYI for anyone interested in staying with the 510 Plus, Dometic does still have the 510+ Traveler under part number 302651001, which is the complete toilet in white, but doesn't include the hand sprayer upgrade. The kit to upgrade it is part number 385319054 for the white sprayer. They do offer the chrome version for the same price, but it was on back order, and I just wanted to get the job done so we could go camping. I paid just over $500 for the toilet and the sprayer kit but that included the exorbitant Seattle sales tax. I was surprised by how much higher the sales tax is in Seattle compared to where I live 65 miles to the South in Olympia.

The new one is identical to the original except for the name on the top, though the tag on the 2004 build date original says it's from the SeaLand Product Group of Dometic. One of my winter projects will be to rebuild the old one and then find a home for it.

A couple of years ago I replaced my 1987 model weird little short square toilet with a new Dometic ceramic elongated tall toilet made for grownups. I highly recommend.
