Exterior Rocker Switches for Basement Doors Not Working

Well, if it's not one thing it's another!
I was out installing my rebuilt side window yesterday, and wanted to get in one of my basement compartments for something, and found that none of the rocker switches (either side) were working. Thinking maybe I had a pump problem, I checked the switches in the pump compartment,
(work curb-side bsmt slides only) and the two curb side slides worked. So, not a hydraulic problem. All these switches and bsmt slide outs have always worked faithfully, so I'm thinking maybe a central fuse somewhere? I looked at all of the 12V schematics in my owners manual, (it's pretty extensive) but there is no drawing for switch wiring for the pump/drawer controls....naturally. Anybody able to shed any light on this. There was a post I saw sometime in the past about the switches not working well, and needing to be replaced, and I think these are replacements. They are very robust, and show evidence of having been re-seated sometime in the past. (Silicone around edges of switch base.) If there's some little remote fuseblock somewhere in the basement, I hope it's accessable from the curb side!

5 years after selling my APEX, I purged all my related files in my computer. Now wish I had not done that. One of those was a hand drawn wiring diagram I built for APEX smart-beds. Not in owners manual. I sent it out multiple times so somebody has it. Don't think it ever made to the library.

See this thread #7 http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/repl...es-106240.html

Things to check:
IS BASEMENT LIGHT SWITCH ON? Besides turning on the lights, it applies power to the external touch pads/owner installed small rocker switches and gives you a red light above the door.

CHECK FOR BLOWN INLINE FUSE IN HYDRAULIC BAY. 20 AMP one supplies power to 8 little relays on forward wall of hydraulic bay which operate Smart-Beds (4 in, 4 out)

Basil Shannon, you solved my problem. I guess in the two years we've owned this RV, I never stopped to think what the red light powered by rocker sw. #4 by the door, actually did. Now I know that it renders all slides inoperable when turned off. Makes perfect sense. When you're away from the coach you can easily lock up the smart beds! Why I never stumbled onto this situation before,I don't know, but for some reason, that switch got turned off while I was working around the coach. Then, needing to get a tool out, I pushed one of the rockers, and nothing happened; then, total consternation.....until you posted. Thank you so very much. This site has been worth more to me than a Golden Retriever that doesn't shed, (and that would be worth a lot, believe me I know.)

The downside was that most people never turned off the switch and the basement lights were always on. Many reported the lights melting. Mine did.

You're right! However, we love our Golden to death, so we just bought a small hay baler to follow after him. We've often been asked why we don't just shear him, but to us, that would be like putting a mask on the Mona Lisa.....
