After reading this thread and talking to some others, we decided to try the high idle feature on the Smartwheel, since we haven't used it up to now, and found ours doesn't work. I've repeatedly tried all the suggestions listed on these posts about how to set it, and it doesn't set.

We worked on this issue at Colton Truck Terminal yesterday and couldn't find the problem. Put the computer on the ECM and looked at the engine settings to see if they changed from my printout of the last one at Cummins Yakima last summer, and they haven't changed. Couldn't find a parameter that needed changing. Called Cummins Yakima and faxed them a printout of the settings, and they offered one option -- "PTO parking brake override" that they said needs to be enabled to make the high idle system work.

The problem is this is a feature that's locked and can't be reset because the reading is that it's "disabled in the multiplexor" which we take to mean the rear Vansco, hence it won't allow a change directly to the ECM.

I would like to get this feature to work to allow me to run the engine at 1000-1200 rpm to make the air compressor run a little faster when pumping up the air bags in the morning.

My questions are whether others have had this issue trying to get the high idle via Smartwheel to work, or which light should be lit on the Vansco, or did you have to have the Vansco reprogrammed to make this feature work? Or some other suggestion? Cruise control has always worked fine when driving.

Mine has not worked since the 2 stage Jake brake was reprogrammed at the 2006 DRR. Not sure if the reprogram caused the issue or not. I get along just fine without it.
