Koni shocks are designed to have the vast majority of their dampening on EXTENSION/very little on COMPRESSION.
Dampening on compression adds to effective spring rate, making the ride harsher.
Dampening on extension does not add to ride harshness, but does smooth out the ride.
Yes, less expensive (simpler valving) to have roughly the same dampening in both directions, but not the best combination for both ride and handling quality.

I suspect the overall weight of an Alpine might be a bit heavy than a class C or a F150, I’ll stick with a shock built for the load.

They're on my list to call. I don't trust half of what these websites say,.... seems they all have a disclaimer at the end about "parts may be delayed.... blah blah blah...."

FWIW, I bought mine from Ultra RV Products 4 1/2 yrs ago. I don't recall having any issues dealing with them. There was free shipping and I had them in a couple of days.

Those disclaimers may be pandemic related. They’re just covering their dairy air.

I ordered the Konis from this place few years ago. Received quickly and easy install without removing wheels.

Shocks arrived today..... managed to get one of them installed. Damn! these are on there!
The Koni is really different from the Bilstein. It’s not a pressurized shock, oil filled only. Very little compression resistance compared to the Bilstein, but the rebound is much stiffer. Very slow in fact (as standards by an earlier post) The body of the Koni is huge compared to the Bilstein.
Will update on ride later...

Well crud. Was under the rig today and noticed some wetness on a rear trailing arm. ..... leaking rear shock.
Now i'll replace the rears too...... might pay to have this done....

Getting the largest shock under the RV is key. These factory shocks do not have enough rebound control. What is the biggest improvement with the shocks you have put on?
