Anyone have a problem with their mechanical fuel pump. Apparently mine went out today.

400ISL. Mechanic said the electronic fuel is doing its job. But something about another fuel pump is not working properly.

Sorry to hear of your problem. Look up AirDog or Fass on the IRV2 Cummins engine forum.

He has a 2006, which means he has the common rail injection system. The CR fuel pump has a gear driven, low pressure section that feeds fuel into the high pressure injector portion. The mechanic is likely referring to the gear driven part of the pump.
Some interesting reading and pictures. https://www.scribd.com/document/3818...50-QSC-and-QSL

Larry,
My mistake, didn’t notice the year of his coach, definitely next generation of the ISL.
Just went through the fuel pump issue with my CAPS era ISL.
Cheers!
