Generator slide

My gen slide is failing to go out. It is intermittent as today when I set up in the campground it went out, but would not do so at the truck stop. Anybody have this happen? Kinda of a bad deal if you need fuel and the slide won't operate.
Thanks for any thoughts

If it's an electric slide it sounds like you need to free up your bearings you can do so by spraying them with penetrating oil. There about 12 of them top and bottom. After you spray them work your generator slide in and out you may have to repeat a few times. I just did mine a month ago for the same reason

The safety bar under the generator has a nut & bolt on each side of the bar. If one falls out it will prevent the generator slide from opening. Holding the safety bar while someone operates the generator slide button will allow you to open the generator slide.

Speaking of Generators, my Avalanche has a flip-down front panel to access the genset...I wish it had a slide-out. Recently I tried tightening one of the release buttons on the cable release system and damaged the mounting tube that the slide button moves in. Does anyone know if any WRV parts are still available ?

Wayne- you might have to refab that one or find what other vehicles it was used on. You could try a call to Aubrey's in Yakima, they bought some WRV parts at the auction.

Thanks Mike...I'll try Aubrey's. I have an idea that might work, If I can't find the part...(one of my Avalanche DIY Wet-Dreams ).
