Generator start switch inside Motor Home

I cannot find the Generator Start Switch inside my 2004 Alpine Avalanche. Does anybody know where it is located?

I’m completely unfamiliar with the Avalanche. On the Limited of the same era, there was a pullout drawer between the driver and passenger seats, below the climate control switches, that housed the generator start switch, the front slide switch and the HWH controls.

As you probably discovered, the Avalanche is a different animal and there are few owners out there.

As mentioned, there is a switch on the drawer between the front seats, and another switch in the cabinet that contains the tank levels, electric load panel, and water pump switch.

No telling where it is on the Avalanche, but look around the cockpit area and also the control panel area, wherever those are on your coach.

Maybe the cabinet above the drivers seat (if you have one)?

I looked through the sales brochure and it is not apparent where the switch is located. It does mention that everything is controlled from the drivers seat so maybe part of the proprietary controls on the center console.

In any case here's a copy of the brochure just in case you do not already have one

On my coach there are two inside switches. One is on the dash near the headlight switch the other in the overhead storage near the fridge with also has the inverter control panel and the tank gages and water pump switch.

Here is a wiring conversion chart that I created when converting my old AGS system to the new Xantrex AGS which now mounts in the same cabinet next to the fridge. I preformed several tests with accompanying status when finished and it's been working well ever since. In fact, I failed to realize that it had a default monthly maintenance routine in the configuration and sure enough the generator started on its own one day. I really like the arability to set minimum battery voltage as a start trigger and achieving float level as a stop trigger for boondocking.

I hope this helps in some way.
