A simple oversight could be your fuel tank is below a quarter I ran into this issue and the generator would not run if my fuel tank was less than a quarter full.

I didn't read every response here but one thing gets overlooked is the PHASE output of the generator. If the phase is off most every generator will shut down. So how do you check this? You can't you need to take it to the authorized manufacturer or a good generator mechanic. Bring it in for just this test and nothing else, so they will check it and only it, or, they may tell you it's fuel, or a belt, or pump etc.

….as mentioned--some of these smaller genset aren't phased--don't about the 7500/8000?
