Heater Blower Motor
I just replaced my noisy blower motor. It worked fine. but I had the dash apart and figured why not.
I bought the new motor at NAPA. Part number 655-1076 perfect fit, install old squirrel cage. Best part is the price, $16.99, what a bargain, it was all I could do, to not buy two.

A number of people have asked about getting access to the blower motor for replacement. Could you write up or share photos of how to do the job?

You can access the blower motor by simply pulling the cover in front of the passenger seat and then pull the side cover on the passenger side of the console. They're both held on with Velcro.
The only problem with removing those covers is that the Velcro often comes loose from the covers and/or bulkhead since the original glue deteriorates over time. It's just a small PITA to re-glue but serves to make cover removal easier going forward.
The fan blower motor is towards the middle of the front bulkhead. Can't miss it.

Bob,
I doubt that I can be of any help, but here goes. I replaced the blower on an Alpine so it may not be of any help to you. Alpines have two large removable panels in front of the passenger seat to provide access to the electronics and everything under the dash.
All that needs to be done is remove the panels and the blower motor is right there in the middle. There are two wire connections and 5 or 6 screws to remove and it pulls right out. On mine you remove the squirrel cage and attach it to the new motor assy. Hook up the wires and test it before you install it. If all is well, stick it in the hole and replace the screws.
That's about it, hope it helps a little,
Terry

Bob,
On mine the PO had added a couple of screws to assist the old Velcro. WRV seemed to have a real fondness for Velcro. It sure makes it a test of patience getting those panels in and out. You're fighting the fit under the dash and just when you get it close, the Velcro sticks and you can't move it.
Worst part is you can't use a BFH!!!

Terry, for the part number. Started the coach yesterday to prep for our Florida trip and the blower let out a squeal. Pulled the panels and had the fan out in minutes. Hardest part was moving the large wire loom out of the way. Gotta have heat out here in Indy!

I just completed replacing my blower motor in my 2001 Alpine, same part number and price at NAPA, direct fit. Easy job, access simple as noted by others. My old one was still working, little noisy and not much velocity of output. Very noticeable improvement in the velocity with the new motor, and little or no noise other than air flow!
