Question High Temp Alarm on and off

Afraid to ask another question but here goes.

Driving back from the shop, my temp gauge started going up to near 225 , alarm would sound, then it would go back down to normal. A mile later same thing. Then temp gauge remained @ 200 with no issues.
First time this has ever happened.
I don't understand it jumping.

If it happens again, I would replace the engine temperature sending unit. Another thing I would check is the engine water pump belt.

What engine does your coach have?

350 TD? Is that a Mercedes engine?

Cummins 350 Turbo Diesel.

Is that better for you?

It is becoming a PITA to ask questions in this site anymore.
Bigd9, with over 8,500 posts, I would have thought you would known what a 2002 Alpine 36MDDS came with or at least understood what my response meant.

No, You had to be Henny Youngman and go for the comic relief at my expense.

I thank you for your suggestions on your first post.

You are correct. I should have known what engine manufacturer and engine series was in every single year, of every single brand, of every single model coach made. Probably only a couple dozen of them.

Don't know much about Alpines, but I think they all come with Cummins engine's.........
Were you pulling a hill when this happened? If not I would first check for loose wire's on the gauge and the sending unit. There are also good videos on youtube on how to troubleshoot water temperature sending units.

This is the ALPINE COACH OWNERS FORUM, not the general forum.
There are only a few choices.

I am reluctant to comment on this issue--clearly you are sensitive to this and other response you have received. First -- welcome to the internet. Second, this website tends to invite comment from outside specific forums--eg. responding to "recent discussions" items. Frankly, I read your thread an understood you were asking about a Cummins 350 but had no idea what "TD" meant. Information is free here on the forum--sometimes you get just what you pay for.

Please DO.

You have not provided enough information for those of us who KNOW your coach and engine to provide useful information.

For example:

Under what conditions does this occur?

What maintenance has been done on the cooling system? Said another way is the thermostat OE or has it been replace?

How quickly does the temperature go from "too hot to normal"? Said another way, is this a mechanical or gauge issue".

, I would remove it

If I knew how, I would delete it.

I haven't found any way to delete it, so,
I have pretty much screwed myself on this forum.

Sorry about my rant earlier.
No one deserved that.
