I don't think you have an issue w/the heat for a short time. You may have an issue w/the fan control. On my 06 the fan controller was either defective or not programmed to run the fan at idle or 1st gear, resulting in overheating when stuck in traffic. Its rare to be stuck in traffic for most motorhomers as we try to schedule our travel around rush hours, but you apparently simulated that condition at rush-check-in-hour.
No reason to panic. For the time being, just shut off the engine if you are going to be parked a while. And next time the rig is in for service, have the fan checked at idle, and in gear but parked, then w/dash AC going at idle & in gear but parked. Fan should turn ~800 rpm under no AC conditions and at a high rate w/AC on. If it doesn't, you can have the fan controller checked and replaced if needed. If you have no rpm w/no AC and high rpms w/AC you can turn the radiator fan on by calling for AC (that was the case w/my 06) as a get-by till you can afford the $400 for a new controller.
