How to open generator slide?

What is the sequence for opening the generator slide? The previous owner showed me but not sure I remember correctly.

Key turned to the accessory position. Turn on the HWH System. Flip the generator/rear door toggle to on. Push the generator switch to the up position and hold until the slide is open as much as you want it open. You will hear when it is open all the way.

First, thank you for response. Does the generator or engine need to be running?
Do one of the jacks need to be down?

I was in a hurry, was going to run it out enough to get tire size, it just clicked. So I thought maybe generator needs to be running? Started gen, still didn't seem to be working. I guess I just started pushing buttons. Finally it opened but I don't know what I did or didn't do? I was thinking it started working after I put a jack down??

I will try again, slow down and follow your instructions.

Thank you

No need to lower jack(s) or start generator or engine. If the slide does not move it may well be that the battery needs charging. In that case, start generator OR plug into shore power. OR you can run the engine for a few minutes to put some charge into the battery.

Don’t try to run anything on these coach’s with low or dead batteries. It will cause all kinds of damage. As voltage goes down amperage goes up. I will destroy motors and electronics. So make sure batteries are close to 13v or more before operating HWH system

Danny,

It helps if you include the year and Model when you ask for assistance since some of the Alpine features changed over the model years. Since the hydraulic pump draws large power from the battery, having the unit plugged in to shore power or the generator running is recommended. On my 1998, I can extend and retract the generator slide by flipping the ENG/GEN switch to on then pressing the exten or retract on the Gen Slide switch. The ignition switch can be on or off and the Hyd Level can be on or off.
