Hwh ap36604 spare - anyone?

HHHEEELLLPPP!!!
[Mod Edit]

We are dead in the water full time!
Both our '06 APEX's hydraulic pumps have quit pumping...motors spin, no pressure builds...should've replaced when the first failed a couple years back, I guess but - since it's such a major undertaking and no other coaches even have an Auxiliary pump - we were advised against that.

HWH says 6 weeks (plus shipping time) if I order today...none of their dealers seem to stock anything...everything "HWH" is apparently totally proprietary so no work-around seems to exist, not even from Bucher-Monarch who just about has to be who builds these for them.
Talk about a business ripe for "disruption"!!

Bottom line is I've been chasing dead-end leads for nearly 2 weeks and I'm desparate!

I tried...no response...but I'll try again.
Thanks!

to All:
To be clear, my main problems is the pump themselves, not the motors which are another common problem but are available (Bucher-Monarch 08189) and/or rebuildable.
I've been pretty-much 'around the horn' on this...all the usual suspects including AZ Pete...no luck so I'm reaching out to the membership to see if one or two can be found OR if someone else has "broken the code" on HWH's proprietary monopoly.

Stuarts Services has always been responsive to my calls. Unlike HWH who almost never returns calls.

Contact Paul (AZPETE) at pfmaddox@att.net or call him at 602-549-3638. He is a Commercial Member and is an HWH representative. He has posted that his phone is always on, and if not answered, leave a message. He has some spare parts and may be able to help.

Try Northern Hydraulics online:

https://northernhydraulics.net/index..._detail&p=1312

They sell Monarch DC motors WAY cheaper than HWH.

the pump has failed. he needs the pump. not the motor, those are readily available. as i understand, its only available as an assembly. pump motor and tank.

Current status

Thanks again to all who are contributing!

Given the unavoidable delay for ordering new from HWH and being unable to get the reservoir off the pumps to try and ID them or at least see what really went wrong to prevent them from pumping, I hauled my Aux. pump which was the one we were running on when it all failed, into a local hydraulic & machine service company.

In 15 minutes they had it apart and had found a sheared "key" on one of the two gears...a tiny thing about an 1/8" long & the diameter of a pencil lead...15 minutes later, the shop foreman had made a new one from "drill stock". I took the Primary in (which had failed about 3 years ago with a very similar symptoms) the next day to have it evaluated with instructions to replace all seals, etc on the first one (assuming they can ID & source them) or on both if they found it to have the same "key" problem. I haven't heard back yet on that outcome but I am hopeful!

Once that bridge is crossed (successfully) I WILL also replace both motors before beginning the reassembly & installation process. It's just WAY too much work to re-use aged motors & the one on the Aux power unit is 'toast' anyway even though it still runs. Whatever happened to bring that on in the middle of the night really fried everything - from the solenoid right on through the motor to the pump itself!

NOW where that leaves me is with sourcing the same motors which are different from yours, Scott. Mine are Monarch 08189 that are 3.7" in diameter & 4.5" long w/ 2 7/8" spacing on the 2 mounting bolts & about a 1/4" high cap on the end.
Sadly, that part number doesn't bring up anything on their website.

E-Mike has hooked me up with another source which I'm still in communication with to confirm how the assembly end bearing is mounted on theirs and/or if it can be adapted to mate directly into the mounting block/manifold as mine is. $250@ for the motors is more than I expected but - assuming the hydraulic repairs come in around the $100@ plus minor parts that I am expecting - I could end up 'smelling like a rose' and have everything in hand to start the reconstruction by early next week instead of sitting in Bobby Vodden's parking lot in Junction City until August-Sept. doing nothing but waiting on new parts.

If anyone has a confirmed source for a guaranteed, direct replacement for my Monarch 08189 motors, please get that to me ASAP.

Thanks!

PS

Stuart's DID get back to me but had none of the AP36604's, the replacement RAP91937's nor any better solution than order & wait.

Nice guy though!

I think I found it:

https://masondynamics.com/products/p...c-motor-08189/

Site says 3.7" dia. and mentions that it's a replacement for HWH. Not a cheap motor...

Bingo!
That's an exact match alright, Scott...about 3 times what I expected to pay for one of Chinese manufacture though...I guess maybe Bucher-Monarch specs better component materials for their branded products?

Thanks for your support!

HWH pump motor for APEX

I'm watching with interest as we also own an Apex. I have a question for everybody. Should I order a spare? Both of my existing pump motors run now, but who knows for how long, as these coaches age. I did have to replace a relay on our secondary pump motor last year. Thanks to all for your thoughts. We will also be in Junction City the end of June to see Bobby Voden.

I've also had good luck with reputable motor repair shops rebuilding DC motors. Usually new bearings and brushes. I never had an HWH motor repaired, but there's nothing really special about them.
