Hydralift Motorcycle Carrier on an Alpine

I'm planning on installing a Hydralift motorcycle carrier on my 34 fdds. I've seen a thread that talked about it but that was all.
It is strongly suggested to mount it directly off of the frame by extending the rails with some welded on material. I don't see that as a problem and it does have a tow receiver built into the carrier for my toad so I may be able to lose the existing 10,000 lbs hitch.
I thought I saw one mounted on an Alpine at the last ACA rally in Quartzite, but I'm hoping someone will respond that has some experience with this particular system. Thanks in advance for your help.

Need to check out rear axle weight--a 34' might have some extra carry capacity on the rear axle. Most lifts I see are on longer coaches with tag axles to help distribute the added weight.

The Peak chassis has the same GVWR and GCWR whether you have a 34' or 40' coach. So the Cargo Carrying Capacity of the 34' is actually the highest at about 5,700 lbs. The rear axle is rated at 19,000 lbs. for all of the models in 2003, and the front is rated at 12,000 lbs. My 34' is heavy in the rear, and the Hydralift will reduce the weight in the front and definitely add 1,000 plus lbs to the rear axel, taking into account the fulcrum effect.
Maybe a trip to a weight station and see how much the coach is loaded would be a good place to start.

I have a hydralift on my Alpine Coach FDTS 40’. It is a very convenient way to carry a bike. It was on the coach when I bought it. It carries my 769 pound Harley Road King and I tow my Jeep off the lift receiver. It is welded to my frame. I have over 80K miles on it with only a couple minor cracks due to age, neither crack at the frame.

The only negative is how dirty the bike gets. Even with two covers on it, a lot of road grit gets in. I have to wash the bike each time I take it off … only because I won’t ride a dirty bike.
