I replaced the sync cylinder for my galley slide recently. Still had a creep problem. Spoke with Paul Maddox of HWH and he suggested that I try and purge any air out of both extend and retract circuits. With your slide in, open your retract solenoid needle valve no more than 3-1/2 turns. Press retract switch and fun the pump for 30 seconds. Tighten the needle valve. Extend your slide and repeat the process with the extend solenoid. Hope this helps.

If you follow the posts (#20) you will see the discussion was about the pump manifold. The pump end has o rings.

Casper,
Based on your brief description of your mechanic's troubleshooting, it might be worth it to find someone who is more of an HWH expert.
I don't know the first thing about hydraulics, but if you read a lot of these forum threads, one thing that stands out is that the HWH systems are finicky. Amazing, but finicky---especially as they age.
Add the more complicated electronics in the later model Alpines, themselves full of idiosyncrasy, and troubleshooting requires even more expertise.
But as I said, what do I know?

I tend to agree that the electrical side of the various HWH systems can be troublesome to diagnose, especially the newer models and the more exotic applications like the basement beds/drawers...on the other hand, the mechanical side is pretty straight-forward-- hose connections and cylinders can leak and slides can creep [usually a hose leak or solenoid issue]....IMHO

Steve & Linda,
I'm not sure what the sync cylinder is or where it is located, unless your talking about cylinders in the HWH compartment.

Our coaches are getting older, slide creep can come from the pressure not being held on retraction. If you are seeing creep look at the HWH manifold, do you see fluid stains, if so check the “o” rings on each hose connector, they age and get brittle, they need to be replaced. That could explain why one slide creeps and another does not.

Hydraulic fluid leak

MJW2347, your hoses are really wet. Have someone extend the slide while you watch the hoses. Look for one spraying or just multiple drips. The Fluid could be running down the hose. there is a know problem with how WRV swaged the fittings on the hoses, they will leak causing pressurized fluid to run between the woven hose and the plastic jacket. Once the pressure gets high enough, it will find a pin hole in the plastic cover and drip. If you are lucky there will be enough hose to cut the old fitting off and have a local hydraulic shop swage a new one on, if not you could cut it back and splice in a new section or you will have to replace the entire hose. Not a terrible problem, but snaking the new hose through the frame can be tough. Some folks have tried to pull a new hose with the old, some have abandon the old hose and just run a new one. Good luck with whatever you try.

Once the leaking hose is identified, pull it out and have a new hose made. Not worth cutting and attaching a new fitting. The quality of oem materials was less than good! Shouldn’t be more than $100.00.
Every town has a shop that makes hoses.

You are so right, Dale, look for the easy things first! I had a problem with bdrm slide creeping out on our Apex. (streetside). replaced the retract solenoid, and problem solved.
