Installation of Unified Tow Brake

Okay, I took voltage readings on the terminal strip "switched" and only got voltage indication on the center two posts(out of eight). My coach has, what looks to be factory installed, wiring coming from six out of the eight posts. Nothing is connected to two posts. I tried to get voltage readings with coach running, coach off, ground stud, and another ground point. I only got voltage indication from the two center studs. I didn't research where the other wires were going to or coming from. Is this a normal reading? I was going to use an empty post for switched 12v power but if there's nothing there..plan b.

No need for plan B, you are on the right track.

You can't go by the wire position on the strip. The posts are just an easy place to connect with the existing wires and could be attached in any position without changing how they operate. The backside of the screw post is isolated and does not connect with any other circuit. Look at what is printed on the outside of the wire to identify the wire you want.
On my coach there are:
-two open posts
- "PNL-L" The voltage varies down from a max of +12v when you operate the panel light dimmer wheel on the headlight switch. Used this for the lighting in an added dash pressure gauge.
- "IGN2-C" has +12V with the ignition switch in the ON position.
- "AUX-ACC" has +12V with the ignition key in the ON and the ACC position.
- "7435" is a black ground wire
- "SPR1" and "SPR2" are two spare wires that are probably wrapped inside the wire loom right next to the RH edge of the rear vansco. They are not connected to any other circuits (unless a previous owner used them) and are spares to be used how you wish.

I used IGN2-C to signal a relay and I used power off of the big power lug for the power to the relay.
