Interested in Alpine

Hello all:
I am interested in information a 36MDDS # 75303. I know it is or was available at PPL in Houston. The reason I have not contacted them is that I am in Victoria, BC, on an extended trip. PPL's stated policy is that they will hold for 15 days with a $1,500.00 non refundable deposit. There is no way I can be home (So. Cal.) in order to be in Houston in that time frame.
According to the Registry it was owned by Jim and Sue Price of Bend OR. If any one knows them and can ask them to contact me by PM, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Bob, I cannot help you locate these people. I am an X car salesman. These people are trying to put the pressure on you. $1500 non refundable 15 days, NO WAY.. It certainly is not the only motorhome in the universe. It is a buyers market when the economy is slow. If a dealer has it, it probably is not a super duper bargin. Its 1550 from LA to Houston. If you really want an Alpine, most of them were sold in the Pacific North west. If I were set on this one, I would let nature take its course. If it is still their when you get there fine, if not it was not meant to be. I would not send a deposit, but that is me. You did not mention price or age. I bought a 99 36 ft SDS 52,000 miles, nice shape except for tires, 12-09, $33,000. good wishes, old trucker

As of the last few days there are no Alpines on PPL's diesel pusher page, as far as I can tell.

I tried dealing with PPL when I was in the market. Couldn't get answers on the 3 rigs I was interested in by phone or email. One lady in Customer Service was more helpful than any of the sales people. Bottom line is unless you put the money down they won't do anything. I paid an inspector to look at the 2000 36FDS and PPL wanted me to pay for an inspection from their guys before they'd address the issues.

I found a coach with the door where we wanted it in better condition for less money from a private party. They're out there, just be patient. We love ours, good luck in your hunt.

Bob King, see my post about two different 36' alpines for sale. Send me PM if you are insterested, I will provide copies of the original invoices, and give you the e-mail address os the owners, you then can contact them, and work out what you can work out. I will say both of those units are like new, and have less than 10K miles on them or close to that. One of the owners I know personally, and have worked on his coach.

Thanks Old RVer:
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. We are on a trip in the NW right now and haven't had wifi for a couple of days.
I'll send you a PM with some explanation and info.
Thanks again to all who replied.
Bob

Bob, sent an answer to your PM, send me e-mail to the address I left you. It keeps this forum from getting choked up.

Daveshan; Thanks for the reply. I just looked again and they list 2 Alpines One is a 2005 36MDDS and the other is a 2000 36FDDS. I'm still too far away to contact them a try to make a deal. Will just have to wait until I get home in 3 or 4 weeks.
Thanks again
Bob

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong link, this is one I had saved from when I was looking HERE. At any rate I think you'll like what you find once you get to drive one.
