I have been having repeated error messages on my Silverleaf VMS 200 computer, all with the same error code, lift pump bad. I had a new lift pump installed but the error messages persisted. They were especially prevalent when my chassis (engine) battery was low. Recently my turn signals began sounding puny and also my VMS 200 would fade to black while driving and then recover. I started checking for a bad ground or some other problem when I noticed the turn signal flasher relays were crushed. The relay has a plastic housing instead of the old metal style and is secured to the firewall using spring clips in the shape of a C. Apparently as the plastic aged it finally collapsed under pressure from the clamp shorting something out. Since I replaced the turn signal relay I have not had any of these problems. The turn signals have never worked better and the VMS error has not reoccurred. I'm assuming all Alpines manufactured with these flashers and C clips will eventually have this problem. If you want to check yours the flashers can be found on the electrical panel under the dash in front of the passengers seat. They are near the floor.

What was the error code #?
I don't have any symptoms I can identify, coach running great, but get code 231 somewhat regularly on start-up & don't know what it is.

I get the same error and was told by Cummins that it was an OEM problem all was good on the engine side. I never pursued it with WRV because I had installed the unit myself and was waiting to here if any 2006 owners got the message on factory-installed units.

231 comes up on most pure cold starts (not run for >24hrs) though not all, and occasional hot restarts (after gassing up) or occasional warm restarts (after lunch). The SilverLeaf displays a list back to mile zero of the occurences that I can scroll thru.
