Irritating throttle pedal

The roller on the King Controls pedal moves freely through it's full range but it requires an unreasonable amount of foot pressure to make the initial move from the idle position. Especially irritating when negotiating tight spaces or going fore and aft when parking.

I think the angle between the pedal roller arm and the base plate is too straight. There is no adjustment.

Anyone else bothered by this? How did you solve it? Can the base plate be bent slightly to change the angle without increasing idle speed?
