ISC coolant conditioner

My coach developed a coolant leak at the selector valve on the engine coolant conditioner housing. After draining the coolant I attempted to remove the selector valve shaft and it pretty much just crumbled. I purchased all necessary parts to repair the valve and manifold. After reassembly it leaks worse than before.
My question is:
Has anyone removed and done away with the selector valve and plugged the head? The ports in the head are 1” npt.
I know and understand all of the ramifications of doing away with the conditioner. That issue will be covered with my annual sampling.

The coolant filter can be spec.’d with additives or a filter only. If you go to an OAT based coolant it would not be needed. Later Cummins engines do not have a coolant filter. You can test the coolant and add treatment separately or with a filter. It’s seams odd that a valve replacement did not fix it. So yes you can block it off. Just be sure you test and replace the additives as needed, if required by the coolant type you are using.
