Kitchen drain
What is best way to get to the kitchen drain leak (flexible pvc to abs joint)? I'm guessing I cut the floor out at the exterior garbage locker (that's right above the leaking joint). Just checking before do surgery.

Kitchen Drain
I have been trying to resolve this problem myself. It seems that I can get a repair working leak free for a couple years then the flex pipe gives way from stress.
Last week I removed the furniture, TV and wall support to give me a good access to the thru the wall kitchen drain setup. It's design sucks and drags the flex hose every time the slide travels in or out.
I found some 3/4" flexible heater hose at Home Depot last week and bought some reducer fittings to bring the 11/2" PVC down to the 3/4" flexible hose. I also cut down the PVC drain pipe located on the floor just before the dump into the holding tank, I did this so I could get a better angle for the hose to snake thru the fixed wall and sliding wall, I then anchored the hose to the wood wall in two place to better support it, did I say the design sucks!
I then dumped a 5 gallon pail of water into the kitchen sink and I drained sloooowly, so I need to lower one of my wall anchors holding the 3/4" drain hose so the water drains better.
The 11/4" flex hose is not flexible after 3 years it's stiff.
I hope I can finally get this nagging problem resolved!

I did take out the MDF box that held the garbage can. That gave easy access to the bad fitting - flexible pvc to threaded ABS. The fitting was broken at the threads. I think I'll try replacing the PVC fitting with flexible connector. I hope it will stay together. I will rebuild the exterior box so I'll be able to get at it without much trouble the next time it breaks!

WRV just left that duplex outlet hanging? Something tells me that's not quite up to RVIA standards.

Old Scout.....Tried to search multiple times without any much luck, the fixes did not apply to my problem.

Once the floor was removed from the garbage can compartment (actually the whole box), the fix only took a few minutes. After looking at the sideways pressure on the threaded fitting, it's not surprising that it broke. I simply rebuilt the corner with 3 22.5 street ells with a 3" pipe leading back to the flexible PVC. Then I tied them together with rubber connector They must not have wanted to glue ABS to PVC and that why they used a threaded ABS fitting.

Pics please, and perhaps details on the trash can wall removal. I can see me doing this in the future. Thanks.

My garbage can box was built and installed before the kitchen cabinets were installed with screws that were not accessible once the cabinets were installed. Therefore it came out in pieces (destroyed). Once the box was removed, it exposed lots of plumbing and the Aquahot (it was attached to the box) and it clear that new box needs to be easily removable to allow access.

Are you going to rebuild the trash can box?

Once I get back to the Seattle area, I'll have access to a shop where I can do it right - both useable and accessible to the utilities.
