Leaking Fresh Water Tank Sensor

One of the water level sensors on my fresh water tank is leaking. It appears to be a screw in type that has some type of glue or sealant around it. I want to reseal the sensor, but don't know what to use that is okay with potable water and will actually seal it. Looking for suggestions....

Hi Steve,

I would also recommend Teflon tape.

I don't want to unscrew the 3/4 inch sensor from the tank for fear that I'll create a larger problem. I was hoping someone had some magic glue or sealant that they had used...guess not.

You could try Flex Set. It is one of the few things that will bond to the water tank. I used it with great success on a leak I had in my water tank.

Have you tried just tightening the screw a 1/4 turn ?
I haven't seen the ; trough the tank wall sensors ;in a while. Is the mount a rubber grommet ?

Steve, you're going to want to be able to remove it if it fails. Mine did. It was easy to unscrew and screw the new one in. Is it the gray plastic type or has it been upgraded to the new brass type?
