LED Signal Light Conversion

I have been thinking about switching out my light bulbs and replacing with LED's for the taillights/brake lights and signals. My question is there a signal light flasher in the Vansco, if not where would I find the flasher in order to replace with LED flasher to avoid hyperflash. If the Vansco controls the flasher, would a turn signal load resister installation on the signal cause a conflict ?

Switch it out with just the LEDs, and see what happens first.
Might not be any issue at all

You can cross reference the bulbs by part number, however the last time I checked (about a year ago) there were no DOT approved bulbs, there are plenty for the interior, just not the exterior.

There is a flasher, Your ears can find it.. There are two or 3 types, one is kind of fussy about the load current (IE: if it is designed for a two turn signal lamps on a side, then a 3rd or if one burns out it will either work differently or not work at all)

Another is more less care free (this is the HD type) and if there is much of a load it will work, period,, normally,, LED's might not be enough though if you do LED all the way around, in this case a resistor will fix.

The third type... I have never used or torn apart. so can not describe (Solid State).

Suggestion: Change the rear, not the frong, that is what I did on my MH, and so far, no tribbles at all.

LED Signal Light Conversion

Mike Brez, this is an Alpine Coach forum. While I think your coach looks great, those tail lights will not fit an Alpine.

I realize what forum this is I was just showing what you can do instead of replacing a single bulb and having one led bulb you can have 20. Does yours look like this? You can probably do the same.

Rusty Bear, do these come with bulbs? and will the motorhome wires connect to to lights without modifying them?

Go to this thread. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/led-...ts-191688.html

There are some changes needed to wire the turn signals, but it seems like a simple fix.

All bulbs included. The turn signals need to be rewired, but an easy fix.
Here is the thread on the tail lights.

Jim,
I'm assuming your coach is equipped with a Vansco system judging by year of your Alpine. Do you know if the Vansco has a flasher that controls all the signal lights ? If so I'm thinking that a load resister would need to be installed in line for any of the signal lights to eliminate hyper flash. I am curious to know if in your opinion this would create a conflict in the Vansco. My first thought is no,but want to be sure in order to prevent a bigger problem.

I have not done this conversion yet, so I am not sure as to what is required regarding the flasher, but the I believe the flasher is separate from the Vansco. Maybe someone on this forum will know.
