Call Cummins Corp with the engine serial number to verify HP/torque.

The 8.3l, 275hp/815tq was the standard engine for the 36’ models in 2000. Probably for 1998-9 as well, but I have not seen a brochure for those years.

This one might be the best looking one I’ve found so far. Only one I’ve seen in this color scheme.

It's a 2000. It's more than I want to spend though. And has several things about it that I don't care for. Love the look though.

Here's a decent looking 40 footer that I found today on Fakebook Marketplace. I think it's the first Alpine I've noticed with clear coat issues. I've seen lots of other brands with failing clear coat. How common is it with the Alpines?

It’s as common as on any other manufacturer’s coach of the same vintage and dependent on how the coach has been exposed or protected. My coach has some areas, specifically on the roof radii. It’s part of having an older coach that was kept outdoors.
