Returning from Quartzite I noticed that I had significantly less power when climbing steep grades. I also hear a air rushing sound at low speeds. At highway speed the coach runs fine. No overheating, no codes or other warnings. We are setting up appointment at Sacramento Cummins and I want to go forarmed with info. My guess is I have an air leak in the turbo. Anyone with a similar experience? Thanks in advance for your input.

Sounds like a boost leak in the charge air system.

When I had my 06 Apex, we had a similar situation, turned out to just be a loose clamp on the rubber boot from the turbo. Many of the problems I had with that coach were things that good old WRV forgot to tighten at the factory.

Could be:
1) one of the neoprene elbows in the charge air cooler plumbing burst (this one's on you)
2) charge air cooler itself has ruptured (probably not as that would usually be a much smaller hole); also on you.
3) the 3/4" rubber elbow tube on the air compressor intake that takes its feed off the turbo boosted line into the intake; this one is a recall "campaign" on the 07-built engines (08 model year coaches). On an 06 you can see the small elbow just aft of mid-engine length, PS, if you lift the bed; looking rearward at the engine it is near but not quite @ the top of engine on the left, and will look blown open. Look just aft of the intake assembly, and you should be able to feel it shredded as well. This one's on Cummins.

My loss of power is the result of a blown neoprene turbo elbow. Does anyone know the cost of replacement. Thanks

I had a Vary similar problem 4 months ago. Loss of power, ran fine on the flats but down to a crawl up the hills. Cummins checked all systems and found it was the fuel filter.

I think Camping world will change it for you ?

Also, Check your air filter!
