Lost throttle…….

Lost my throttle several times this weekend. I’m assuming it’s an issue with the throttle position sensor. Anyone else had this issue? Had to almost coast to a stop once, then it returned. The other times I patted the pedal a few times and it returned. Anyone know a part number by chance? Is it easy enough to change? Gonna check connections first, but wanna be prepared if that isn’t it.

Thought you had a gasser then looked it up. Might edit your signature.

You have this:
2000 Alpine Coach Diesel Pusher 36’
330 ISC Cummins Engine
6 Speed Allison Transmission

Not at all uncommon for the connections to come apart. Good luck!

The good news is Williams Controls is alive and well in Oregon.
I’d contact them if you suspect the tps is the culprit. They should have parts in stock.

Had the same thing happen to me. In my case it turned out to be a loose battery connection.

How does the throttle work on early 2000 Alpine coaches. Are we flying by wire?

Alpine only made pushers, so no need to put it in my sig.

Yes, fly by wire. Hopefully your pedal says Williams on it.
Prior to 2000 it was likely supplied by King Controls, now obsolete.
If you have a King system the only option is to convert over to an air operated throttle.
Gmcgene just went thru that exercise in futility.

I fixed that on a coach at Quartzsite one year, just needed to pull all the dog hair out of the electrical connector & Voila!
