Microwave Replacement

2005 Limited Alpine triple slide

Our Sharp Microwave/Convention Model R1870 has died.
We would like to replace it with a GE Avantium.

Has anyone had the opportunity of making this change???

Our 2004 model screws into a backplate but the new models screw in from the top and since ours is in the slide that is not an option.

Our 2005 36' came with the Avantium mounted in the kitchen slide.

Checked with WRV before they went under about swapping our Sharp for a GE. They told me it was a easy swap. Never did it because the Sharp worked fine and still does. Our coach is a 05 40FDQS

Vic,
Our 07 GE has a mount attached to the back wall of the slide and than the micro is slid into the mount with a couple of screws holding the front up. Will email you some pictures if you need.

Mike- this will be a recurring issue going forward as appliances succumb to old age &/or remodel syndrome. If you'll email me the photos as well I'll put a doc up on the Tech Library showing the mount process.
Thanks.
