Where do you get the control unit programmed for the application? Can Allison program it per the build transmission SN as per the chassis manufacture requirements?

Does the control unit need to be programmed for the application.
Yes, the ECU must be programmed for the application. And, there ARE things you can select-- like what gear it downshifts toward when the engine brake is applied.
Where do you get the control unit programmed for the application? Can Allison program it per the build transmission SN as per the chassis manufacture requirements?
Along with what Wolfe said, you can also purchase a module from certain online supplier who can program it before shipping. An example is pcmperformance.com or jultech.com You have to supply them with the CIN # off of the tag on your original module.
