Missing transmission module

Just purchased a 40’ 01 Alpine coach that was sitting in a field for 10 years, someone stole the transmission control module and I was hoping someone with a similar unit could look and see what part numbers are on theirs to assist in sourcing a replacement.

Allison transmission

You should be able to contact Allison with your tranny info and they should be able to get you the right part

Welcome to iRV2

Sounds like you have a project on your hands .

If an Alpine owner doesn't come forward with the info you need ; then get the transmission serial number and call Allison for the ECM number (s) that will work.

Where is it located? behind the center console on the floor? I have an 40ft 2001 as well, I can see if I can get the numbers off it for ya.

Yes, on the (firewall?) under the dash near the floor. You can get to it by removing the access panel under dash in front of passenger seat. It is a thin silver metal box about 6inches Square, held in with 3 screws, has 3 connectors on the wider end. One connector is blue, one grey one black. I have several wires that aren’t connected to anything could use some detailed pictures of your wires behind center console.

Chadster . the wires in question behind the dash ; do the appear to have been cut , or do they have connectors and just aren't connected to another wire ?

When I first got under the dash on my coach , I found many wires not connected ; just with crimped butt connectors installed to cap them off , for options my coach doesn't have .

Between Freightliner and Newmar , there is enough extra wire in my coach for a couple of Honda wiring harnesses.

I am preparing to replace the module in my 2002 for an internmittent problem and have learned some things in the process. Our coaches are equipped with Allison MD3000MH transmissions. Be aware that the part number itself is not all you need. These WTECIII (or WTEC 3) modules were used on various applications. The modules have to have a CIN (calibration) programmed into them to make them appropriate for our coaches. The programming determines information about the engine torque and horsepower, shift scheduling, exhaust brake or engine brake usage, etc. In my former life, I had to program automotive and light truck transmission and powertrain calibrations, but have no training in Allison. Same idea though.
My 2002 Alpine 8.3 ISC 350 with exhaust brake has the following info on the module.
The part number is 29537291 (date code on the module is 08/30/2000).
Model # WT3ECU909
CIN # is 0C00BCH005B I think, very hard to read the tag. Would be best if you can get someone else to check theirs and post the number (you'll see in the photo that my tag is very faded, even though the module is under the dash).
The CIN can be programmed without being installed in the vehicle if you buy it from or send it to someone with the equipment to do so. For example Jultech (online). Not recommending any company in particular.
Not sure why the first picture came out upside down, but can't seem to correct it.

Did you take the pictures with different cameras ?
First photo the format is too large and the site computer does weird thinks trying to fit photos into the size limit .
Resize before posting ; 640 pixels works for me .

There is a seller on ebay who has the same part number out of a bus for sale. If I buy it and it is behaving poorly, do you think it would be able to be programmed for my specifications?

It is my understanding that a module with the same part can have the CIN # programmed, which will make it correct for your coach.
