need a Vansco VMM
My "engine comm err" turned out to be a dead Vansco VMM. Does anybody know where I can get one locally (in the US) or [Mod Edit]?

Yikes, there is a three month wait at JCA. Please look at my question in the classified section of IRV2 under "wanted: items". Thanks.
Do I recall that there were other motorhome companies that used the Vansco? Like country coach or somebody? If so I could give them a call and see if there’s one lying around.

John,
It may help to post your location and if you're good to go now with the band aid fix that you have. How urgent is your situation?
A few months ago I believe somebody ordered a few VMMs for this reason. As I recall the thought was that there would be a few spares floating around in case somebody was broken down and needed one in a hurry. I believe the plan was to leave them unprogrammed in case there were some differences in the years and programs. The borrower could program it to his coach from his working VMM.
One could be overnighted and the recipient would either pay for it outright or order a new one and send it to the person who loaned it. I'm not sure what became of the idea but somebody will likely respond with more info.
Engineer Mike has a spare or two I believe, not 100% sure, but I know he's done some tinkering with them. He's on the forum and will probably chime in soon.
As for other MHs using them I haven't heard of any, MCI buses did or do use the same one if memory serves. That said, I don't know if a used VMM could be wiped clean and reprogrammed. I don't know if it's even been tried. A question for EM or one of the other smart guys on here.
Good Luck, Terry

Success
Thanks Terri, Jim, Bob, and John. The issue is hopefully now coming to a close as John has a spare Vansco that he is willing to send to me. Thanks for this forum and Alpine Coach owners for coming through again and saving our trip. Very much appreciated. Thanks to Vic and Mike too, behind the scenes.

As I am a new Alpine coach owner, this is very new for me. I posted this morning about my similar situation with the 2004 Vansco rear VMM. Any help in getting points of contact to find one would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Ron & Annette

need a Vansco VMM
Glad this is all being resolved shortly!
I believe that was the last spare Vansco available and exactly why there were a few extras ordered.
To help a fellow traveler in an emergency.
