New Brake Calipers

Does anyone know what the process is to get the new "Final Solution" brake calipers? From what I've been reading the new calipers have been released from Bosch. I've been looking on the Alpine Forums for discussion about the new calipers and haven't seen a thing. Has anyone had these new calipers installed and if so, are they working?

I assume you are referring to The replacement of the Bosch calipers on Workhorse Chassis. They started replacing them in september of 2010. If you have not received notice it is due to not being the owner of record with Workhorse.
All the information on the recall can be found at www.workhores.com
There is also a list of select service centers.
Had ours done in October 2010 14,000 miles ago and no issues.
Ther is a great deal of discussion in the Workhorse owners forum.

Thanks AZ Bound, I guess I'm confused over the chassis issue, Alpines don't use a Workhorse chassis so I thought I'd see posts for Alpines on the Alpine Forums. Has Workhorse replace the Alpine calipers?

I am not familiar with the chassis that Alpine uses. If it's not a Workhorse it's not a part of the Workhorse recall.
Listing the Chassis builder in your signature block will be a big help to anyone when you ask questions.
To the best of my knowledge there are no recalls other than on the Workhorse, but I have been wrong before.

Exclamation

I believe that Alpine used a custom chassis by Peak, when I check the Workhorse web site, there is no mention of any other chassis covered by the recall, have any Alpine owners had the new calipers installed?

Thumbs down Workhorse is not fixing Alpines

Finally heard from Workhorse and they are not repairing anything other than Workhorse brakes, still wondering what other Alpine owners are doing to permanently fix the brake problem.

Greg,
The calipers used on the Workhorse Chassis are a different than those WRV used on its Peak Chassis. The Workhorse has a smaller diameter cylinder than that on the Peak. There are several threads on this Forum where the break issues are covered in great detail. E-Mike has several posts that explain the differences better than I could ever hope to. Hope this helps.

A search of this forum under "replace calipers" returns seven threads (I think there are a couple more related threads, too). You will be able to see the exact part numbers and the results of trying to get Bosch to pay.
