Odometer Question
1998 Alpine 36 MGSS
The odometer display shows 888888.8. Does this mean the whole unit needs to be replaced? Is there another way to get the mileage?
Thanks

Bluefire is a device that plugs into you engine control module diagnostic connector and transmits via bluetooth to your tablet, phone or other device.

In answer to your original question, it is likely that there is a fault in the instrument cluster, which is replaced as a assembly, or in some cases may be sent off to an electronics center for repairs. Not sure about sources for repair.

1998 uses a mechanical engine - no diagnostic connector.
