We are headed up to Washington in June and wondered if anyone had suggestions for good places to park the coach on the Olympic Peninsula.

We've done very little camping up there (we're from Portland) because my wife's family lives there and we usually park in their driveway. However, I did check out Salt Creek County Park and think it's worth a try -

A favorite stop of ours when we head north on SR 101, is a dry camp area right on the ocean beach. This is about 1/4 mile south of the Hoh River and the road to the park area comes up fast when you are northbound. This I believe is a Washington State park. There is plenty of room to get turned around for big rigs. View is teriffic!

We go to Diamond Point near Sequim. If you have Coast to Coast or AOR and maybe a couple others, you should be able to get in. It's a KM property so it;s a members or affiliate only park.

When we were up there we heard that Gilgal Oasis RV Park in Sequim was very nice. But it was booked when we were there so we didn't get to try it. Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend is nice. Forks 101 RV Park was a convenient place to park on the west side but nothing special.

It depends on whether you're looking on the West coast, East coast or North coast. Just south of Port Townsend is Old Fort Worden SP. Being fairly local, we've visitied, but haven't stayed. It's got a nice waterfront overlooking the town from the south.

West of Port Angeles, there's a county park that featured as a photo header on this group sometime last year. It's called the Salt Creek County Park. If you search this website, you'll find some references to it.

On the West coat, Woodall's shows quite a number of RV facilites, but I don't know any of them personally.

Are you looking for Private parks or State parks? I don't usually stay at private parks. I/we enjoy our state parks. With that said Fort Warden State Park is nice, but hard to get a site during June (weekends), Dosewallips State Park is very nice and usually easy to find a site with hookups, Belfair State Parks is nice and we stay there alot because of the site and playground for the kids. I would go to Washington State Parks website and look at the entire list of parks and you can see pictures of the parks and sites. Our National Parks limit the size of MH to usually under 30' so it does limit where you can go.

If you're looking for a view of the ocean, it's hard to beat Pacific Beach State Park at Pacific Beach, north of Ocean Shores, and close to Moclips. Check out their sites on the Washington State Park website. You can make reservations in advance there.

Sites #5-8 have the best ocean view. Sites #7 and 8 have 50 amp power and the others have 30 amp power; water but no sewer. They do have a dump site.

Gilgal Oasis is nice and new, but it is right in town, and pretty barren.
I prefered staying at Seqim Bay Resort, not as new, not as nice, but it has trees on 3 sides and right across the road is John Wayne Marina and the ocean. At least a partial water view from most of the sites, very rustic and relaxing. If you call far enough in advance, get in the front row and you can throw a rock across the road and hit the ocean.
