We just finished installing new HID headlight assemblies from DDM Tuning and realizing that no two Alpines are exactly alike we wanted to alert others of a potential problem (at least on our motorhome). The new assemblies went in fairly well once the being aimed too low issue was addressed by changing the mounting. However, on the driver's side the new assembly is slightly deeper and larger and an existing hole had to be enlarged to accommodate the extra depth/size of the headlight and wiring. Had we not noticed this when we did, we could have crushed the back of the new assembly. The passenger side on our Alpine did not have this issue. So if you have installed these lights or plan to do so, you might want to see if yours are hitting anywhere.
The original headlights were not mounted correctly and the internal adjustment mechanisms were broken. We are looking forward to being able to see better on those rare occasions when we find ourselves driving at night.
