I can't tell from the photo whether you tapped in before or after the regulator.

Allen, The gas pipe white was already run over by the basement door. all i did was put the connection on to hook my grill gas line to it.

Dennis,

The pressure is already regulated at the tank. Unless your bbq came without a regulator you have two regulators on the line. I bought a bbq that doesn't have a regulator on it.

That white pipe is already regulated.

It matters whether it was teed off the main feed out of the propane tank before or after the regulator.

If it's after the regulator then the pressure has already been reduced, and you need to remove the regulator on your gas grill. If the gas goes through two regulators there will not be enough pressure to burn correctly.

FIRST, look on the RV and see where that tee is coming off the propane line.

Allen , the line from the propane tank on the motorhome ties into the regulator and then connects to the white steel gas pipe.

So you need to remove the regulator on the grill. I'm not sure exactly what's involved in that.

Propane can be DANGEROUS. So, verify before you start.

Call the grill manufacturer and tell them you are running this off your RV built-in tank.

Ask them if you should tap in BEFORE the RV regulator (i.e. full tank pressure) or after the regulator (i.e. 11 column inches of water column) . I ASSUME you should tap in before the regulator, but you want to verify this.

If that is true, you need a "T" between tank and RV regulator.

what type of grill do you have. The weber Q series is easy to remove the regulator.
The "O" grill can have the regulator removed also.
So,, you need to see if the Valve (on/off) is separate from the regulator is all

High side is before the regulator on the RV. Low side is after the regulator on the RV. Best to connect to the low side, as all the appliances are in the RV. Two regulators inline is a no-no. So need to T into the low side on the RV and connect a grill there that does not have a regulator.

Tend to agree that using low pressure side is "safer" but most outdoor appliances are designed to work off the high side, eg, Colman stoves, lanterns, heaters, "little red" campfire, etc. Accordingly, most extension hoses, distribution trees and connections on the market are designed to work off the little green bottles, or larger 5-20lbs tanks [high pressure]. The extend-a-stay is the best example of working on the high pressure side. If you can modify your existing grille or find a new one without a regulator--great, but a high pressure tap will give you more options.

I T'd into the low side of the supply pipe that already exists in the loading bay and piped over to the patio side (you can get the pre threaded black pipe at any hardware store). I bought 2 fire pits, cut the regulators off, and run them both at the same time with probably enough pressure left to run my b.b.q. as well. But to try that I will have to create a third supply connection. From the size of the flames I get on my fire pits, it should work.
