I have always considered shur flo to be super reliable and durable.
I had trouble with my brand new rv pump replacement and ended up putting the old one back in.
I wonder if their quality is slipping.
In their specs they list a vertical lift height of 6ft or something like that.
We shouldn't need to baby them with downhill installation to keep them primed.
Frustrating.

It depends upon the water pressure. I have the auto fill so I normally just leave it on so I never have to do a complete fill. The last time I dumped the tank and did a complete refill it was completed over night.

Mine came with a 5.3 gpm output and it was fantastic. But it didn't last and they stopped making that model. I'd love to find another high volume output pump like that again.

My Apex has this pump water https://www.amazon.com/Remco-55-AQUA.../dp/B004RCSLFS installed. Its expensive but it is top of the line performance and pressure.

I also put a valve on the input side of my water pump, when I replaced the filter.

It takes some strain to get this installed, you will be working in odd positions for a while. But the end result is worth it.
I just got done installing a bed lift. I designed it myself so I can lift it with a heavy mattress in place. The hardest part was trying to attach to the lid and the base of the bed. Unfortunately the lid and bed base is sandwiched thin plywood with foam in the middle. This makes it hard to add pivot points for the gas struts. I had to reinforce my attachment points.Click image for larger version

I’ve been a stalker here for a while. I’ve lived in the home of Alpine coaches my whole life. Got an 04 FDTS a couple years ago and have been working on stuff ever since. Added solar and Lithium batts. We dry camp most of the time so that was beneficial.
I redid all the counters this summer with epoxy and ripped all the mirrors down and covered it all with peel and stick tiles( I was inspired by some others on here) I also got rid of the console drawer.
Heres a few pics. Sorry about the orientation of a couple of these…. I tried 😎

Exclamation Alpine in the news again!

Hello all!

My Geezer (aka Blind Guide ) recently replied to a request from a new newsletter being published to an email list gleaned from persons who had contacted a go-getter of an online big-rig tire salesman (his clever means of keeping in touch w/o becoming a nuisance).
The invitation was for readers to provide pix & descriptions of non-invasive upgrades they had done on their rigs. The Blind Guide's response earned him his first-ever "published" article.
Since this forum page is dedicated to just those sorts of activities, it seemed appropriate to post the link to that article here for your entertainment.

Hi,

When I purchased my Alpine I thought the original rear lighting was dim at night. On the insides I added Trucklite side combination turn/maker lights in the skirting just ahead of each wheel. On the rear, I switched the rear econoline taillight assembly to LED. I also added 5 additional led lights bars. One to replace the center brake light (I mounted the new light over the old opening). Then two additional bar lights each side over top of the taillights. The top two lights are wired as turn/marker lights, the next two are wired as brake/marker lights. The higher mounting allows visibility to vehicles rear of the toad. The lights are easily mounted and can be oriented horizontally or vertically if you prefer. If you do anything, just adding the larger brighter center brake light is a great first step.

The taillight assembly that I replaced was for a 3 light taillight. The back has wires for turn signal, stop/ marker and backup. The traditional online econoline led taillight assembly replacement has two connections with the turn signal, stop/marker on one and backup on the other.

If you have the three light taillight yellow/red/clear, you need to be sure to order this light. lt was made for the three wire system and just plugs in. It is a very easy conversion. It can be ordered by calling the company noted below. The 3 light assembly can not be ordered on line.

In 2019 I Added these 8 additional lights very similar to the one you did.

I used similar light bars with Brake/Tail/Turn & Backup lights. I "Frenched" them ( cut in and created light buckets on the back cap and fiberglass finished them. I was doing several other exterior fabrication on the old 1999 Alpine 40FDSU. Mine were so bright i had to smoke them with smoke paint so during the day unless they are light they bend in with my back cap.
for a more factory look this Modification could easily been done without having to do any paint work.
