Radiator coolant testing

Well, I put a couple of test strips in my coolant and it looks good for all three tests (by color change). This is on our 2001 and has probably not been changed, at least in the six years I have owned. Always tests well. I will be replacing, since I want new hoses, but really does not look like I would have to. What are others experiencing? I have a bit over 60,000 miles on it.

I had 70,000 miles on my 2002 before the test strips showed I needed to do something. I changed the water filter and would have changed the coolant but I traded it before it was done.

Cummings has a change schedule I believe. I have mine checked each time they do that for me. I would change the oil myself, but I don't have a container big enough to catch all that oil. I would take it into them anyway for the coolant change because it's harder to get rid of the old coolant. New hoses, did not remember reading a change schedule for those, you can certainly call them and ask. I would be interested on what they say.

I have decided to do nothing with the cooling system this year. Checked my hoses and they are still pliable. I did buy the molded hose and will carry it should there be an issue. There are only a couple of other short sections of straight hose and I will get some to carry also. I did find that the support bracket for the lower section of metal hose was broken. I welded that and should be good to go.
