Does anyone know were on the internet I can find a wax valve for my 2002 radiator, my wax valve has the name and type, sauer danfoss 553717098577190 nothing comes up is there a new part number? .

I think more detailed information would be helpful.

Based on the name alone, it looks like it could be a hydraulic or power system.

Have you tried looking on the danfoss.com web site? You might try calling their tech support for assistance.

They are in the UK but when I bought mine in 2015 they were much cheaper even with the shipping and foreign exchange rate. Once I placed the order it took a week to get.

A wax valve is one of the (better) ways to modulate hydraulic pressure to radiator fan(s) on side radiator coaches.

Monaco changed the design on some of the coaches. Some use the Wax Thermovalve and some used an electronic device to control the fan speed. I read of problems with the electronic controller far more then the wax valve.

My 2002 Monaco Windsor uses the wax valve, it is a fairly simple design and usually doesn't fail. When I had my radiator changed in 2015 after road debris put holes in it I found that my fan was running wide open. I contacted Monaco tech support and they had be do a couple tests that indicated the wax valve was bad so I replaced it. I was curious why the old one failed so I took it apart and found a piece of rag in it, which was probably caused by Cummins, they didn't keep the valve clean while it was off.

When I had trouble with mine the fan would run at a slow speed until the engine got hot enough for the thermostat to open, at which time the fan would run at WAO, sounded like a jet plane.

I sent an email to Monaco Tech support, after a couple email exchanges the tech just had me call him. He told me to do two tests. I had to buy some fittings, I believe they were #4 plug and union.

I plugged both lines and the fan ran wide open.
I then put a union in between both hoses and the fan ran at an idle.

Based on this the switching device and motor were working as designed, so it isolated the problem to my thermovalve.

So I bought a new Thermovalve from Whitehouse products, ~$168. Installed it and that cured my problem.

Just out of curiosity I took the old thermovalve apart and found a piece of rag in it. Not 100% sure that was the problem but I did keep the old valve just in case.

Nope,
Occasionally you hear of the thermovalve having trouble but it is a small percentage compared to the electronic controller.

Source engineering does sell a conversion to a thermovalve from electronic but not the other way around. I've never heard of anyone trying to convert from thermovalve to electronic.
